IV:
Less than 20 kg:
250 mg/kg
then: 250 mg/kg/day as a continuous infusion
20 kg or more:
5.5 g/m2
then: 5.5 g/m2/day as a continuous infusion
Administration: Solution contains 100 mg/mL of each component.
Pharmacology: Lowers serum ammonia by activation of non-urea cycle pathway (benzoate-hippurate pathway)
